Think about all of the promises of God’s Word. The truth is you cannot think about them all. The promises of God are infinite. The big promise, of course, is salvation through Jesus Christ alone. With that salvation, we are promised Heaven, His power, and His presence always with us. In addition He promises His return.
Then there are the promises associated with obedience. For example, we are promised that we will have all of our needs fulfilled if we are proper stewards in tithes and offerings of what He has given us. Then, there are promises of God associated with disobedience. The promise that we will reap what we sow comes to mind.
The question is “Do we believe God’s Word? Do we believe that God keeps His Word? Noah did. We get a good summary in one verse in Genesis 6:22. “And Noah did this. He did everything that God had commanded him.”
The writer of Hebrews gave a good word about his faith in Hebrews 11:7. “By faith Noah, after being warned about what was not yet seen, in reverence built an ark to deliver his family.”
Noah believed that God was a God who kept His promises even though His Word is sometimes….
- Difficult to accept.
- Doubted by others.
Moved by reverence, Noah acted.
The best evidence that we believe that God’s Word is true is when we act.
