What’s Happening this Week at FBC?

We saw The Singing Christmas Tree come to an end on Monday night. Over the four nights, over 5,000 saw the presentation, 70 people texted in a spiritual decision, and 779 people have requested a copy of the Jesus Storybook Bible. Wow!

I am thankful for every person who came. I am thankful for everyone who participated in the choir, orchestra, those helping with kids, the kids, the youth, the parking lot attendants, the ushers, and our incredible staff. Even now, on Wednesday morning, a crew is here dismantling the tree and putting it away for next time.

The ginormous task of follow-up is now in full swing. Please pray for us.

Tonight (Wednesday), we have special events for Children and the Student Ministry. We will have choir rehearsal and our usual prayer and Bible Study. Join us. This will be the last Wednesday night of ministry until January 9.

Let’s make this Sunday’s worship great.

John said, “The Word became flesh and took up His residence among us. We observed His glory, the glory as the One and Only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14)

What a marvelous occasion before us this Sunday as we approach Christmas! This month we have celebrated the Christmas season with the theme “Christ for the Crisis.” This has culminated a longer study of the Book of Isaiah. Jesus Messiah has come to be the Wonderful Counselor, the Mighty God, the Eternal Father, and the Prince of Peace. Sunday, we isolate and emphasize that last title “Prince of Peace.” Jesus has come to save us from our sins and give us peace even in the midst of life’s most difficult crises.

We do not have an evening service Sunday night, but join us back Monday night for Christmas Eve service at 5:00 p.m. We have a little bit of something for every member of your family. We will have child care available for children two years old and younger.
