I know that you are praying for the Singing Christmas Tree. Please pray that all who come will “Receive our King.” Almost all tickets are gone, except for Monday night. If you have tickets that you will not be using, please return them to the church office. Remember that the program begins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday and Monday and at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Because of this weekend of intense ministry, we will not have our regular Sunday Evening Worship service at 6:00 p.m.
Sunday morning, we continue our series on a powerful verse we find in Isaiah 9:6. Specifically, we will consider the title for the Messiah, “Eternal Father.” I think you will come to appreciate both of these words.
Lottie Moon Christmas Offering —“It is impossible not to speak when we have the words of eternal life.” These words are attributed to Lottie Moon for whom our offering for International Missions is named. We are certainly not giving in order to meet a goal; we are giving because we have words of eternal life to speak. If you have not yet given your special offering, please consider giving this coming Sunday. We will hear testimony Sunday morning from Shelby Myers, a student at LSU, who spent last summer on mission with our International Missionaries.
Several of our staff members were recognized for milestone employment anniversaries this year at a luncheon held in their honor this week. These individuals are:
Queenie Lau 30 years Minister to Chinese
Scott McKenzie 10 years Minister of Education
Tell these individuals how much you appreciate them.
