What’s Happening This Week at FBC?

As I routinely say “There is no time in the life of the church like the fall.” Before someone corrects me, I know it is still hot, and we have to wait several weeks for fall. However, the time between school starting and Thanksgiving is a strategic time in the life of most churches. If we fail to capitalize on these weeks, we are missing a great opportunity.

The Evangelism and Church Growth Team of our Louisiana Baptist Convention has put together a great one-day conference designed to help all of our churches “Regroup” for fall ministry and beyond. The conference is this Saturday, August 11. As a member of FBC, you can register at fbclaf.org. If you register by the end of the day today (Wednesday) we will pay your registration fee. Members of other churches should go to the LBC website at  www.louisianabaptists.org. I hope to see you here.

The theme of ReGroup will occupy our attention on Sunday as well. I will be preaching from the end of Deuteronomy as we think about the necessities of Regrouping. In addition, we will have a time of prayer for our teachers and introduce the teachers of First Baptist Christian School.

If you are in the Lafayette are, join us tonight for our Mid-Week Service. We resume our family dinners tonight so come as early as 4:45 for a great meal and fellowship around the table before our 6:00 p.m. service.
