What’s Happening This Week at FBC?

I want to thank you for your steadfastness this summer in worship attendance. Last Sunday, particularly at our 11:11 service, we had a better than average attendance. We had decisions to trust Christ as Savior in both morning services. I am thankful. I am particularly thankful that we had 20 people to go out last night for visitation and evangelism.

Join us tonight for our mid-week service. At 6:00 p.m., we will meet in Fellowship Hall for prayer and Bible Study. I am continuing our year-long Wednesday emphasis in the study of Exodus.

We have multiple groups on trips and missions this week. Dustin Lee has brought a group of 6th graders to South Texas. Among other trips, they visited and prayed with the administration of Santa Fe High School where the most recent school shooting occurred. We also have a team in Romania and a team in Brazil. I am thankful for a church with members desiring to be on mission around the world.

Sunday is going to be a great day. We will continue our summer series on the stories (parables) of Jesus. This has been a great study for us with so many points of application. I am looking forward to preaching Sunday on the Parable of Two Sons. I am also excited about Sunday because our new Student Pastor will begin. I can’t wait to have Danny Mann and his wife, Beverly, and their three children join us at First Baptist. I look forward to you getting to know them.

Finally, Sunday night, our worship will be a worship concert by the Riverside Revival Band from the Covington area. You will enjoy them as they lead us in worship.

I look forward to seeing you Sunday.
