What’s Happening This Week at FBC?

Our church has grown accustomed to my question, “So What?” at the conclusion of my messages. I fell into this practice a few years ago as the result of making sure that every message ends on a note of action. As I routinely say, “We gather not so much for information, but for inspiration and transformation.”

As we journey toward Easter this year, we are pursuing what I would call the ultimate “So What” preaching series. My preaching series through the week after Easter will be “Easter! So What?” We will be considering several questions posed in the Easter accounts in the Bible. Some of the questions come from Jesus. Others questions come from the disciples. A few of the questions come from adversaries of Jesus like Pilate. Many of the questions are our questions. I think you will discover that every question impacts us. That is, all of the questions cause us to ask “So What?”

Just as last week, this week’s question is from Pilate. Pilate’s question, “What should I do then with Jesus who is called the Christ” is the same question that each of us faces. Pilate made the wrong choice. The reasons that caused Pilate to make the wrong choice are the same factors that cause many to reject Christ today.

Deacon Ordination—
Join us Sunday evening for a special service of Deacon Installation and Deacon Ordination. I am so proud to be involved in the ordination of two of our young men—Frank Courmier and Rob Richardson.

Here for You Acadiana! We are two weeks away from our annual service day in our community. This Sunday be sure to sign-up to be on a project team. You will find the sign-up lists in the Main Street area.

Be sure to pay attention to the time change this weekend. In the busyness of this weekend, don’t forget to set your clocks forward before you go to bed. Go to bed earlier, get a good night’s rest, and let’s be ready to worship the KING Sunday morning.

See You Sunday!
