First of all, because of Christmas week, we are not having any usual Wednesday activities on Wednesday, December 27.
I am excited to lead us this Sunday morning in the observance of the Lord’s Supper. After a brief word of encouragement and challenge from God’s Word, we will remind ourselves of Christ’s sacrifice through the taking of the elements of bread and juice, representing the body and blood of Jesus Christ. I cannot think of a better way to end 2017 and look ahead to 2018.
We will have all three hours of Sunday Schools and both (9:45 and 11:11) morning worship services. Some of our Sunday School classes will be combined. Remember that there is no Evening worship service Sunday night, but we are back to a regular schedule next Sunday, January 7.
Sunday is a 5th Sunday. We have a tradition of receiving a second offering on the 5th Sunday for purposes of benevolence in the community. We will receive this offering as we exit the Sanctuary upon dismissal. Give as generously as you are led.
